On October 20, a C+ Clair program on artificial intelligence in education was filmed in the heart of Drummondville's Palais des Congrès, on the occasion of the 2022 congress of the Association pour l'enseignement de la science et de la technologie au Québec (AESTQ).
Actors from the world of education, including teachers and technicians in practical work (TTP), educational experts and instigators of innovative educational projects took part in this C+ Clair program on the following theme: "Edtech: Can AI help schools grow?".
The show was hosted by Philippe Régnoux, Publishing Director of CScience, and Anne Boily, Performance Director of the Forum IA Québec ecosystem, as well as CScience Editor-in-Chief Chloé-Anne Touma and Estelle Desjarlais, President of AESTQ. Quebec's Chief Innovator, Luc Sirois, although expected and wishing to join them, was held up in the Magdalen Islands for lack of a plane to take off, but was able to take part in the show remotely, and address the guests and delegates via video.
For one hour, divided into three 20-minute blocks, six guest speakers took turns at the microphones to answer the moderators' questions and respond to the issues raised.
Azra Hasanefendic, founder and CEO of Zelexio, and Delphine Le Serre, Director of Support and Training Services at
Moov IA, helped answer the question "How can we meet teachers' needs?" in the first part of the show, which focused on time management and time-consuming tasks to be delegated.
Isabelle Jutras, Director of Operations and Development at Réseau Technoscience, and young Yasmine Ben Arous, a finalist in Hydro-Québec's Super Expo Sciences, discussed the theme of the students' experience.
Finally, Jean-François Pilon, Director of Technology at Alloprof, and Patrick Touchette, Pedagogical Advisor at RECIT Culture Education, discussed the importance of and ways to personalize the pedagogical approach.
This program was supported by the Conseil de l'innovation du Québec and the Fonds de Recherche du Québec.
